Uber Elite Pushes Uber Deeper Into Premium Travel and Airport Runs

Uber introduced Uber Elite, a new high-end ride option aimed at executives, frequent travelers, and riders looking for a more polished travel experience.
The service is currently available by invitation only in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with New York City named as the next market.
Uber says Elite rides can be booked through Uber Reserve at least one hour in advance and as far as 90 days ahead.
The service is built to make airport pickups easier
A key feature of Uber Elite is its new Meet and Greet option. Riders can choose in-terminal pickup, and the chauffeur will meet them at baggage claim.
Elite includes chargers, bottled water, mints, and hand-sanitizing towelettes. Riders can also submit special requests through the app, and Uber says it will try to accommodate them where possible. The service includes 24/7 phone support and direct contact with the chauffeur before pickup.
Business travel trends support Uber’s premium push
In 2024, Uber for Business said demand for higher-end work trips was rising.
The company reported that Business Comfort trips grew by more than 90 percent globally, while more than half of active Uber for Business riders were already choosing premium options such as Business Comfort, Comfort Electric, Black, or Reserve.
The broader business travel market also supports this move. A GBTA poll released in January 2026 found that 84 percent of travel buyers expected business travel spending in 2026 to either increase or remain at 2025 levels.
Elite fits corporate travel programs, not just luxury trips
The service also strengthens Uber’s position in managed travel.
Uber says Elite can be booked through its delegate booking tools, allowing executive assistants or travel coordinators to arrange trips for others. That makes the product relevant not just for luxury travelers, but also for corporate travel programs that value smoother logistics and better traveler support.
Uber wants a bigger role in the full travel journey
This also points to Uber’s broader ambition to expand beyond traditional car rides and become a bigger part of the overall travel journey.
Recent moves, such as its partnership with Joby Aviation, which will bring Blade Air Mobility’s helicopter and seaplane services into the Uber app, show that the company is exploring how more premium and specialized transport options can sit alongside its core platform.
