Turkish Airlines Joins Google Find Hub to Speed Up Lost Bag Recovery

Turkish Airlines joined Google’s new Find Hub baggage-sharing rollout, becoming one of the first airlines to let passengers share a missing bag’s live location during the recovery process.

Turkish Airlines is listed among the initial airline partners, alongside Air India, AJet, China Airlines, Saudia, SAS, and Lufthansa Group carriers, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Swiss.

How the system works when a bag goes missing

A passenger who uses a Find Hub-compatible tracker can open the Find Hub app, select the missing bag, and generate a secure link showing its live location. That link can then be shared with the airline as part of the delayed-baggage claim.

Google says users remain in control of the data, can stop sharing at any time, and the link expires automatically after seven days. The company also says the data is encrypted.

What airlines do next will decide how useful this becomes

If Turkish Airlines and the other launch partners build this feature more deeply into their baggage claim systems, passenger-shared bag location could become a more standard part of delayed-baggage recovery. It will not stop luggage problems from happening, but it could help airlines handle them faster and with less stress for travelers.

The development also reflects a broader shift in air travel, where airlines are trying to make baggage handling faster, more data-driven, and easier for passengers to follow.

In November 2025, Apple partnered with Delta Airlines to bring AirTag location data into the airline’s baggage handling systems, a sign that carriers are increasingly trying to turn passenger tracking tools into faster, more usable baggage recovery support.
