Travelsoft Buys airQuest, Boosts Flight Booking Automation

Travelsoft, a global travel technology company, has finalized its acquisition of proQuest Computersysteme GmbH, the German software provider known for airQuest, an advanced system for flight booking and fulfillment. It automates ticket issuance, schedule changes, payment workflows, reconciliation, and other back-office tasks.
Acquisition details
The deal gives Travelsoft full ownership of proQuest and expands the group’s position in the German and wider European travel markets.
The existing management team of airQuest, led by CEO Ulrich Sambeth, will continue to run the company while integrating its capabilities across Travelsoft products. This includes closer linkage to well-known Travelsoft platforms such as Atcore, which powers many German tour operators, and Traffics, which equips agencies with search and booking tools.
Why it matters for Travelsoft’s strategy
The acquisition comes during a year of rapid growth for Travelsoft. In 2025, the company had already acquired three additional businesses, increasing its size several times over.
The overarching goal is to assemble a complete air travel technology suite that spans shopping, booking, fulfillment, and settlement with strong support for NDC and automation.
Germany’s large and fast-evolving tourism industry presents significant opportunities for modern, AI-ready operational tools.
Additionally, airQuest strengthens Travelsoft’s value proposition for tour operators that are prioritizing automation, efficiency gains, and better channel connectivity.
