Saudi Arabia Could Add 3 New Airlines Ahead of FIFA 2034

At the Cityscape Global real estate conference held from November 17 to 20, 2025, Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority, revealed that Saudi Arabia plans to launch three new airlines. These carriers will join the country’s existing aviation lineup: Saudia, Riyadh Air, flynas, and flyadeal.
This move is part of Saudi Arabia’s long-term strategy to expand its aviation sector and support the Kingdom’s rapidly growing tourism industry.
By adding more airlines, Saudi Arabia aims to increase flight capacity, enhance competition, improve regional and international connectivity, and reinforce its position as a global travel hub.
The initiative also aligns with the Kingdom’s goal of growing tourism from 116 million visitors in 2024 to 150 million visitors by 2030.
Stronger aviation infrastructure is essential for linking newly developed destinations and accommodating major events such as Expo 2030 Riyadh and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Each of the existing airlines already has a clear role: Saudia operates as the flag carrier, Riyadh Air will handle premium long-haul routes, and flynas and flyadeal operate in the low-cost market. Adding three more airlines could give travelers more options and better schedules.
Saudi Arabia’s aviation push also includes strengthening partnerships. Riyadh Air, for example, recently partnered with Uber Technologies to connect air and ground travel. Uber’s ride options are now linked with Riyadh Air’s loyalty program, offering travelers new benefits and rewards.
