OYO Acquires Airbnb Management Platform MadeComfy to Expand in the Australian and New Zealand Markets

short term rental

OYO, the Indian multinational hospitality company, has announced its acquisition of Australian short-term rental management platform MadeComfy for over $50 million. The deal marks a major step in OYO's expansion into the Australian and New Zealand short-term rental markets, which have seen substantial growth in recent years.

Founded in 2015, MadeComfy offers property management services including dynamic pricing, listing creation, housekeeping, and guest communication. The company manages over 1,300 properties across Australia and New Zealand and works with nearly 100 real estate agencies. By acquiring MadeComfy, OYO gains immediate access to these high-demand short-stay markets.

MadeComfy will continue to operate under its own brand, with co-founders Quirin and Sabrina Schwaighofer remaining as co-CEOs. OYO plans to leverage its global technology and revenue management infrastructure to scale MadeComfy's services and increase its agency partner network. The aim is to enhance its corporate accommodation offerings and explore new market opportunities.

This acquisition highlights OYO's strategic shift towards consolidating its presence in the short-term rental space.
