MSC Cruises Launches AI Concierge

MSC Cruises has officially introduced a new AI-powered digital assistant called “MSC Concierge,” marking the company’s largest technology-driven guest service expansion to date.

Integrated into the cruise line’s existing MSC for Me mobile platform, the new concierge allows passengers to manage much of their onboard experience directly from their smartphones. Guests can book restaurants, reserve shore excursions, schedule spa appointments, browse entertainment programs, request housekeeping services, and receive personalized recommendations through natural-language conversations available 24 hours a day. It supports more than 90 languages.

The concierge operates through the ship’s internal Wi-Fi network and is positioned as a core onboard service rather than a premium digital add-on.

MSC executives say the technology is intended to streamline repetitive tasks while maintaining the traditional hospitality experience cruise passengers expect. By shifting routine requests away from physical Guest Services desks, the AI assistant can reduce wait times and free crew members to focus on more personalized hospitality interactions.

MSC said the testing program delivered a guest satisfaction score exceeding 90%, encouraging the company to accelerate deployment across most of its fleet by May 2026.

For MSC Cruises, the AI concierge may become a defining part of its strategy to compete more aggressively with other top cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean and Carnival. If passenger adoption remains strong, the company could further expand the system’s personalization capabilities, integrate loyalty features, or introduce predictive onboard recommendations based on traveler behavior and preferences.

Earlier this month, Rakuten Travel announced that users can now book hotels through Rakuten AI, its hotel recommendation agent.
