Marriott to Bring 3 Luxury Hotels and 360 Residences to Calgary, Canada

Marriott International and Calgary-based developer Truman are bringing three luxury Marriott-branded hotels with nearly 360 branded residences to Calgary’s budding Culture + Entertainment (C+E) District.
The $1.1 billion project marks Marriott’s first entry into the city’s high-end market with W Calgary, JW Marriott Calgary, and an Autograph Collection hotel.
- W Calgary: 69 floors, 157 rooms, 27 suites, and 239 branded residences. Due to open by 2028.
- JW Marriott Calgary: 62 floors, 248 rooms, and 120 residences. Due to open by 2029.
- Autograph Collection Hotel: 320 rooms and approximately 15,000 sq ft of meeting/event space, rooftop lounge, pools, fitness, and F&B outlets. Due to open by 2030.
These hotels support the expanded BMO Centre, forthcoming Scotia Place, and Stampede Park, which positions Calgary as a premier destination for conventions, sports, and entertainment.
The 69- and 62-floor towers will become among Western Canada’s tallest, reshaping Calgary’s skyline.
The investment is projected to create over 9,100 construction jobs and over 2,000 permanent roles, contributing $120 million in annual GDP from hotel operations and another $111 million from visitor spending, plus generating nearly $76 million in government revenue.
