Marine & Lawn Buys Greywalls Hotel and Enters US Market

On July 10, 2025, AJ Capital Partners’ Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts announced the acquisition of Greywalls Hotel, an Edwardian estate beside Muirfield Golf Course in Scotland.

The hotel was designed in 1901 and has been privately owned since 1926.

A full-scale restoration will renovate interiors and dining experiences while preserving architectural heritage. It will keep guest access to Muirfield via The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers.

Marine & Lawn also made its US debut by acquiring Mid Pines Inn (for $5.16 million) and Pine Needles Lodge (for $6.88 million) in Pinehurst, North Carolina, a golf region.

Since its inception in 2019, the company has focused on iconic golf destinations, including St Andrews, Royal Troon, Dornoch, North Berwick, and Royal County Down.

The acquisitions expand the Marine & Lawn’s portfolio to eight hotels, achieving global breadth from Scotland to North Carolina.
