ICAO Turns to Amadeus to Boost Air Travel Digitization

Amadeus and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support ICAO’s No Country Left Behind initiative.
The goal of this program is to ensure that all 193 ICAO member states have access to modern digital technologies that enable efficient, safe, and sustainable air transport systems.
Focus on digital transformation
Through the agreement, Amadeus will help ICAO member states accelerate their digital transformation efforts by contributing technical expertise, sharing best practices, and supporting innovation initiatives across the aviation ecosystem.
All activities will align with ICAO’s policies, strategies, plans, standards, and technical specifications to ensure consistency and interoperability.
By adopting advanced technology more quickly, countries can unlock the broader social and economic benefits of air transport, including improved connectivity, trade, tourism, and job creation.
Key areas of support
Amadeus will leverage its experience in travel technology, digital identity, biometrics, and data management. These capabilities are increasingly critical for modern air transport systems, supporting areas such as passenger journeys, secure identity verification, border efficiency, and data-driven decision-making for regulators and operators.
