Google Expands AI Flight Deals Worldwide, Adds Smart Trip Planner

Google has expanded its AI-powered “Flight Deals” feature from its initial availability in the US, Canada, and India to more than 200 regions worldwide.
Originally introduced in August, Flight Deals allows users to describe their trip, such as destination types, travel dates, budgets, or desired activities, using natural language. Google’s AI interprets these inputs to identify relevant flight options.
Users can further refine their search results by adjusting filters for dates, budget, destinations, or preferred airline alliances to narrow down results.
To support more detailed trip planning, Google has also introduced Canvas in AI Mode, a workspace designed to help users build travel itineraries.
Canvas appears on a side panel within Google’s AI Mode in Search. It consolidates flights, hotels, maps, reviews, activities, and additional trip-related information into a single environment organized through tabs and cards.
The workspace updates dynamically as users add preferences and allows them to manage trip details without switching between multiple browser tabs.
The tool functions as a real-time trip dashboard where users can add notes, collaborate with travel companions, request alternative options, and specify constraints like mobility considerations or budget limits.
