Fliggy Launches flyai as Travel Booking Enters the Agent Era

Fliggy, Alibaba Group’s travel platform, has launched flyai, a new developer tool designed for AI agent workflows.

The product lets developers connect Fliggy’s travel services to AI-powered applications without building booking infrastructure from scratch.

Fliggy says flyai supports a wide part of the travel journey, including flights, hotels, attractions, ground transport, leisure activities, flight passes, and hotel packages. The goal is to make it easier for developers to add travel planning and booking functions to AI products.

Fliggy is building on earlier AI work

Flyai is part of a broader AI strategy at Fliggy. In 2025, the company launched AskMe, an assistant that creates personalized, bookable itineraries. Its business travel division also introduced AliBtrip, an AI tool for corporate travel planning and management.

The difference with flyai is that it is aimed at developers, not travelers. This makes it more than a chatbot feature. It turns Fliggy into a travel infrastructure provider for AI-based services built by other companies.

Fliggy Expands flyai Into the Smartphone AI Ecosystem

Fliggy says flyai will also be integrated into the skill stores of major Chinese smartphone brands, including Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Honor.

That broader shift is already becoming easier to see. Tools like ChatGPT are starting to play a bigger role in how travelers explore ideas, compare options, and narrow down choices before they book. Fliggy’s flyai launch fits neatly into that trend, as travel companies look for ways to make their inventory and services work more smoothly inside AI-driven planning and booking flows.
