CarTrawler Acquires Koala, Enters Travel Insurance Sector

CarTrawler, an Irish B2B mobility technology platform, has acquired Koala, a Paris-based travel insurtech company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This move marks CarTrawler's entry into the travel insurance sector. It aims to expand its ancillary services in response to growing demand for embedded insurance products in travel.

Founded in 2018, Koala specializes in B2B travel insurance, providing services like trip disruption and missed connection coverage.

CarTrawler plans to integrate Koala's products, allowing travel partners to offer insurance within the booking flow.

In 2025, CarTrawler invested around $9.3 million to enhance its platform, focusing on AI and data science capabilities.
