Nonstop flight

A nonstop flight refers to a flight in which an aircraft travels directly from its departure airport to its destination without making any intermediate stops.

Unlike connecting or layover flights, which require passengers to change planes or pause at one or more airports along the route, nonstop flights provide a continuous travel experience, minimizing total travel time.

This is also not to be confused with a direct flight, which also doesn’t require passengers to change planes but may include one or more scheduled stops along the way, where the plane could pick up or drop off passengers or refuel.

Nonstop flights are scheduled and planned with the specific objective of covering the route in a single, continuous flight. Airlines must ensure that the aircraft selected for nonstop service has the range and fuel capacity to reach the destination without refueling.
