Guest travel
Guest travel refers to trips taken by individuals who are not company employees but are sponsored by the organization.
The common use cases include
- talent acquisition travel, where job candidates are invited to attend final-round interviews on site;
- gig economy workforce travel for independent consultants, contractors, or project-based workers who need to be present for specific engagements;
- stakeholder and partner travel involving vendors, clients, or board members attending meetings, negotiations, or events;
- expert travel for guest speakers at conferences or visiting researchers collaborating on short-term projects; and
- affiliate travel, such as students, interns, or employee family members participating in programs, training, or company-sponsored activities.
In all of these cases, the organization is responsible for arranging or funding travel.
The purpose of guest travel is to strengthen relationships, incentivize loyalty, and promote brand engagement.
