Global Entry
Global Entry is a US government program run by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that allows pre-approved international travelers to expedite clearance upon arrival in the US at airports or seaports.
The program is designed to make cross-border travel more predictable and less stressful by replacing long immigration lines with an automated identity-verification process.
Applicants pay a $120 fee and go through a comprehensive background check, security screening, and a one-on-one interview with a CBP officer. Those classified as low-risk are granted membership, with the process typically taking 4–6 months to complete.
Once approved, the traveler does not need to interact with passport control lines and paper customs declarations when entering the US. Instead, they approach a designated Global Entry kiosk to confirm their identity.
