Routing fare
A routing fare is a type of airline ticket price that is determined by a specific, predefined travel path rather than the distance flown.
Unlike a mileage-based fare, which is calculated based on the total miles of an itinerary, a routing fare is tied to a list of approved cities, air carriers, or airports that can be used for connections between the origin and destination.
The fare rules for a routing fare explicitly state which intermediate points are permitted, ensuring that the price remains consistent as long as the traveler follows one of these approved routes.
